BMW Killed Off The 6-Series Coupe When No One Was Looking - AutoSpies.com
in the NYC area, Bentley dealers are advertising $1,788 per month cheap leases on the Bentayga WHICH INCLUDES 3 YEARS OF FREE MAINTENANCE. By the way, Bentley's only have 3 year warranty's on them to begin with. While the outgoing/gone 6-coupe was an attractive car, the S-coupe makes it look dowdy in comparison. The testers for the 8-coupe don't look that much different than the 6-coupe so I can't imagine buyers justifying a $20k higher starting price (I'm estimating). Or, perhaps there is a leftover new 2015 or 2016 Flying Spur still kicking around in the US system. Seeing where the new 7 seems to be failing against the S, I can't imagine the new 8 having anymore success against the S-coupe. If somebody wants a new 4-door Bentley that can be used as an everyday vehicle and which costs less than $400,000, they need to buy a Bentoureg. In related news that is related to the related news about the Flying Spur being canned. One of the reasons why the new S-coupe is so appealing is b/c Mercedes completely redesigned it and almost made it a completely different product and not a successor to the CL. And the new S-coupe is one of the sexiest cars on the planet right now... Source: www.autospies.com
Sheldon Richardson seems not to be part of Jets' solution - Newsday
Richardson, meanwhile, is only with the Jets because they couldn’t find a suitor in the offseason willing to agree to terms on a trade. The Jets appear willing to keep Richardson for now, although it’s highly unlikely he will be with them beyond this season. Marshall now wears the same number for the Giants, a Super Bowl-caliber team that saw fit to make him a crucial part of their offense by signing him to a two-year deal. That’s not to say Marshall was a quintessential locker room guy, and his problems in previous stops in Denver, Miami and Chicago were brought up as evidence he still has issues interacting with some teammates. But Richardson is hardly one to throw shade at a teammate, current or former, especially given his tenuous standing with the Jets. The fact that the Jets initially discussed the idea of extending his contract before deciding to release him is ample evidence that they viewed him as part of the solution, not part of the problem. But I would argue that Marshall was one of the better locker room influences on a team that needed more strong leaders last season. Barring a monster season similar to the one he had in 2014, when he was selected to his one and only Pro Bowl, the Jets likely will have no interest in investing more money into him. 7 for missing a team meeting, and you see that Richardson was the much bigger problem than Marshall as last season completely unraveled. He already has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, and was suspended for the first game of the 2016 season for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy. The Jets had shopped Richardson in the weeks before this year’s draft, and also looked to deal him at last year’s trading deadline. The fifth-year defensive tackle, who once looked as if he’d be a consistent Pro Bowl player but whose career has been marred by off-field problems and unrealized on-field potential, lit up former teammate Brandon Marshall and proved yet again that... Last year’s sanction was in response to a July, 2015 arrest for driving his 2014 Bentley Flying Spur at speeds up to 143 miles per hour near his home in suburban St. Louis. In speaking for the first time since the end of an awful 5-11 season, one in which Richardson played poorly, was disciplined for being late to a team meeting, and posted an obscenity-laced Snapchat video just minutes before a game, Richardson took... Richardson and Marshall had a few dustups last season, once when the Jets suffered a 24-3 soul-crushing loss to the Chiefs in Week 3, when Ryan Fitzpatrick threw six interceptions and again after Marshall publicly rebuked Richardson for his vulgar... 2017 Bentley Flying Spur Review - The Car Connection
It reels off whiplashes of power, controlled deftly by a paddle-shifted transmission that merits wheel-mounted, heavy-gauge paddles—not the flimsy ones it's given. Even $100,000 luxosedans seem a pale imitation of the Spur's quiet opulence. Numerous interior leather colors, stitching colors, and wood trims are offered—a palette that runs from sober grey to magnificent damson. A Mulliner Driving Specification adds the best flourishes: diamond-quilted seats, drilled alloy foot pedals, a knurled sports shift lever, jeweled filler cap, and 20- or 21-inch two-piece alloy wheels. A suite of infotainment services is matched to the Bentley's mission in life and to the executive levels of charm found inside. The Spur's more than willing to dive into tight corners, and setting its adaptive dampers to Sport gives it the lateral confidence to back up its promise, though it's less compliant when the road unkinks. Compared to the Continental, the grille stands more upright, and the Spur transitions from front to back into a more crisply tailored look: the fenders flare more, the roof pillars are more angular, and the taillights are squared off. The cabin can be trimmed out as a four-seater with 14-way power adjustment and memory, heating and ventilation at all seating positions, or with a &"plus-one&" middle seat without those added controls. It's as much a cozy library of timeless car lines and finishes as it is a housing for Bentley's state-of-the-art infotainment technology. It pushes out 500 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque, good for a 0 to 60 mph time quoted at 4. 9 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph. The remote also governs the twin 10-inch flat screens embedded in the front-seat headrests, offering rear-seat passengers entertainment and in-car internet and wireless connectivity. In the V8 S, the 4. 0 makes 521 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque, cutting the 0 to 60 mph time to 4. 6 seconds and raising the top speed to 190 mph. The V-8 models start at around $200,000, while W-12 models add $20,000 more to the bottom line—and that's before the $2,725 charge and the $2,600 gas-guzzler tax are figured in. And the guzzler tax is fair: the V-8 manages only 14 mpg city, 24... The large LCD screen can be controlled by front-seat passengers, as well as by back-seat passengers via remote control. That's important because the Flying Spur needs to appeal to buyers in China, America, Russia, and Britain, among other markets. Quiet and tastefully rendered, the Flying Spur's cabin is filled with muted details, and studded with "B" logos. All-wheel drive with a variable torque split set at 40/60 is standard, but Bentley says it is capable of shifting to 65 percent front or 85 percent rear as traction needs arise. Bentley quotes a 0 to 60 mph time of 4. 3 seconds and an astonishing top speed of 200 mph for the W12 model. The Flying Spur's interior remains a luxury paradigm: it's functionally fit, fabulously finished, and bespoke to a certain degree in its palette of trim and color choices. Piano black trim, knurled shift paddles, contrast stitching, and deeply piled carpet inside await Beluga buyers on the inside, while 20-inch black wheels, body-colored lower grille bar, and a gloss black radiator pronounce the owner's arrival from... The Bentley Flying Spur is a potent symbol of status and wealth. Offered in V8, V8 S, W12, and the new W12 S models, the Flying Spur has as much hand-finished wood and hand-stitched leather as any vehicle on the planet—a perfect companion to its stately presence. We give the Bentley Flying Spur a 7. 2 out of 10 for its blend of elegant design, interior luxury, and tremendous power. For example, the oval LED headlamps have no surrounds and they are larger outboard than inboard, which is the opposite of the Conti GT. Bentley distinguishes between the 8- and 12-cylinder versions with some small differences: V-8 cars have... Bentley used to badge the Flying Spur as a Continental, but in 2014 Bentley split its lineup, making the coupes and convertibles Continentals and the sedan the Flying Spur. The production car retains a Bentley Flying Spur silhouette, and the Revel speaker grilles carry an uncanny resemblance to their Burmester counterparts in a Mercedes. As others before me have said, “Good artists copy; great artists steal.” There is
