Currently, it’s unclear the direction in which Cadillac will take the XT6. However, based on Cadillac’s new CT/XT vehicle naming convention , we can deduce that it will be:. Cadillac CT6 - Car and Driver

it’s standard on Premium Luxury and Platinum trims. High-end options include a 34-speaker stereo, giant sunroof and adaptive cruise control. Both the front and the spacious rear seats are comfortable, but the leather feels rather generic. He offers one last comment while opening the door to his Range Rover: “The front is okay. Our test car also lacked the optional magnetorheological dampers, but even so, only the most violent impacts made themselves known inside the cabin. With dusk approaching, we make our way back to the club and park among a small group of men gathered in the front lot. Sound Superior The CT6’s interior is a mixed bag. Not only is the system capable of reproducing clear audio even with the volume control nearly wide open, but the imaging, something most manufacturers sacrifice in the quest for overall volume and overextended bass response, also is superb. That’s one decibel quieter than the last Mercedes-Benz S550 sedan we tested with a silken V-8 under the hood. This turbo four makes 265 horsepower and nearly 300 lb-ft of torque. (All-wheel drive is offered only on six-cylinder models. Rough Behavior in the City With a few hours to kill until pickup time, I roll toward the city center to explore the CT6 in detail. More critical for that crowd is the way that highway miles simply evaporate underneath the CT6’s chassis, while interior noise levels hold to just 66 decibels at a steady 70-mph cruise. “Is that the new Cadillac. 19-inch “ultra bright” aluminum wheels ($700) in place of the stock 18s. Moonstone metallic paint ($495). and the Enhanced Vision and Comfort package ($2025), which brings a sunroof, ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, and an... (It also adjusts shock stiffness and rear-steering parameters on CT6s with the Active Chassis package, which our test car didn’t have. Although the engine never complains, for some reason the turbo four feels less refined in the CT6 than it does in the ATS. “My dad always drove a Cadillac,” he says. Its acceleration ability pales in comparison to the 5. 0- and 13. 5-second times laid down by the aforementioned CT6 Platinum—404 horsepower and all-wheel drive see to that. A 265-hp 2. 0-liter turbo four and eight-speed automatic drive the rear wheels. Tires also play into the equation, our CT6 wearing a set of 245/45R-19 Goodyear Eagle Touring all-season tires versus the V-6 Platinum’s 20-inch Pirelli P Zero summer tires. We’d rather they’d saved the resources that went into the touchpad and refined the CUE system as a whole into the class-leading infotainment interface it needs to be. As noted earlier, there are 34 speakers in the optional Bose Panaray sound system. the optional 335-hp 3. 6-liter V-6 and 404-hp 3. 0-liter twin-turbo V-6 get all-wheel drive. The tech department tested the car earlier in the week, recording a 6. 1-second zero-to-60-mph time and ushering it through the quarter-mile in 14. 7 seconds with a trap speed of 92 mph. The 265 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque developed by the turbo four is more than enough grunt to get the CT6 moving around town, though, especially in Sport mode, which tweaks throttle and transmission mapping as well as steering effort. It has 3831 pounds of mass to haul around, 119 pounds lighter than the last BMW 528i we tested and hundreds of pounds lighter than any 7-series or Mercedes-Benz S-class model offered in America. ) Our test car had but four options: the Bose Panaray sound system with 34 speakers , which added $3700 (that’s $108. 82 per speaker). The CT6 is easy both to wheel around town and to place in corners during back-road drives, even without the optional rear steering, and it’s capable of handling feats far beyond the abilities of even the randiest country-club members. Looking for the sweet spot in this lineup, we’re now reviewing a Luxury trim with the base 265-horsepower 2. 0-liter turbo four-cylinder mated to an eight-speed automatic and traditional rear-wheel drive. Since the 2016 CT6 Platinum AWD with the turbocharged V-6 in our previous test represents the top of the model hierarchy and wears a price approaching $90,000, we thought it prudent to check out a model with a more reasonable buy-in. Shouldn’t the drivetrain of Cadillac’s biggest sedan make velvety operation its number-one priority regardless of cylinder count or transmission ratios. Avant-garde styling and high-tech features are great, but the CT6 sheds the Cadillac clichés in an attempt to best its European rivals. “Last time a Cadillac had a four-cylinder was that Cimarron junker in the ’80s, right. All in, the as-tested price of our CT6 Luxury was $66,310, nearly $24,000 less dear than that Platinum AWD edition we tested earlier. The touchscreen response of Cadillac’s CUE system seems to have improved, but now it comes with a hypersensitive touchpad on the center console that occasionally registered unintended inputs as the driver and passenger adjusted their hands on the... Regardless, shifting for yourself is available via the steering-wheel-mounted paddles, but on this model, Cadillac fits units that are smaller and cheaper-feeling than the deluxe paddles on six-cylinder CT6s. Cadillac splits the trim levels of the CT6 into four groups: Base, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum. Still, here I am, wheeling up to the entrance of the club in a 2016 Cadillac CT6. Ostensibly, I’m here to deliver my mother to a social engagement, but really I just wanted to see what the khaki-and-madras types who loiter about the club think... Jump to Instrumented Test – 2016 Cadillac CT6 2. 0T Four or five decades ago, the country-club parking lot would have been considered the natural habitat for any vehicle wearing Cadillac’s wreath and crest. Hauling the CT6 to a stop from 70 mph required 164 feet at the track, 12 more than required by the V-6 Platinum CT6. Note that the four-cylinder CT6 uses 12. 6-inch front rotors where the V-6 models get larger 13. 6-inch units. Source: www.caranddriver.com

We Loved Test Driving The New GMC Acadia Until A Thief Broke Into It - CarBuzz

Leaving the office the next day, I loaded my belongings into the SUV and set out for the grocery store. Now a base Acadia starts just shy of $30,000, but the one I had the keys to happened to be the Denali. That’s probably why, despite hiding my belongings, the attention-grabbing 2017 Acadia was chosen for robbery even when surrounded by a row of Hondas and Nissans. GM still stuck to this recipe, but the main issue with the Acadia is that it’s no longer designed for this crowd. Crisis averted, but unfortunately that incident isn’t the only acquaintance I had with broken glass and the Acadia. Someone who wants all of the trappings offered by a luxury car but who also wants to let their friends know that they still have dirt under their fingernails and wake up at 4:15 AM with or without an alarm clock. GMC has recently made leaps and bounds with the new Acadia because the consumer craze over the mid-sized SUV is such a cash magnet that competition has reached a boiling point. This meant that my last ride with the Acadia was a drive of shame straight to the CarBuzz parking lot where it would be taken back for repair. Don’t worry about burning through data when playing music off of Spotify from a Bluetooth connected phone because the Acadia has built in WiFi to keep the kiddos in the backseats entertained on long trips. I picked up the Acadia at an airport parking lot after getting back from a long week of travel. After covering the reveal of the new Acadia , which took place at the Detroit Auto Show last January, we were looking forward to spending a week with one. When I arrived home for the night, soothed from my trip and looking forward to helping a friend move apartments in order to test the Acadia’s worthiness as a utility vehicle, I squinted to try and see the nearly imperceptible shadows being picked... My short 24 hours with the Acadia taught me an expensive lesson and cut my experience with the SUV short, but in that blip of time, I learned that GM is playing its cards right by offering this all-in-one package at a fair price. It also raises the sticker price to $48,240. But it’s hard to argue with that when AWD capability, rear captain's seats arranged in a comfort-oriented 2-2-2 configuration, and a heated steering wheel, front, and middle seats are thrown in. On the... Here's to broken glass, the smell of leather seats that have never been sat in before, and smoothness that can’t be interrupted by air flowing through the hole where a window used to be. Thankfully GM isn't mad because in place of the Acadia, it... Leaving it parked on the street while shopping for groceries, I came back to load the Acadia with a week’s worth of food and saw, under the Acadia’s dim interior lighting, what looked like splotches of water splashed around the cabin. The Cadillac XT5 we drove a short while back had interior vibrations that disrupted the peace of the cabin, but the Acadia remained smooth and unsettled by bumps in the road. The package replaces the 2. 5-liter inline-four with the same 310 horsepower 3. 6-liter V6 seen in the Cadillac XT6 and adds enough luxury amenities to appear targeted to an audience that wants a useful SUV that’s loaded like a luxury car but more... The winter air was cold enough that moisture in the air was condensing on the windows and my casual styling choices consisting of jeans and a tee were doing little to comfort me. If there’s such a thing as a list of optimal cars to climb into on a... Source: www.carbuzz.com
